The following is required to complete your K-8 application:

  • Registration fee is due at the end of the application, this fee is non-refundable and is $75. The fee will increase to $150 on February 1, 2019.

  • Collect copies of the following documents, you will upload them to the online application:

    • Student’s birth certificate

    • Report cards for two preceding years (if applicable)

    • Standardized test results for two preceding years (if applicable)

    • Custody documentation (if student does not reside with birth mother or both parents)

  • Submit school administrator recommendation form to student’s previous school (download here).

2. Schedule K-8 Testing Online

You will be prompted to schedule your entrance test online and pay the $50 testing fee. Entrance tests are administered at Gahanna Christian Academy and last approximately one hour. Kindergarten screening will take place in February and March.

3. Attend Family Interview

After you and your student have submitted an online application and completed the entrance test, you will be invited to a family interview with a school administrator to discuss admission to Gahanna Christian Academy. An admissions decision will be made shortly after your family interview.

What Happens Next?

New students must submit a completed application online with a registration fee and all required documents to move on to the next steps:

  • Schedule and attend an entrance test and pay the testing fee of $50.

  • Schedule and attend family interview with a school administrator.

  • Receive an admissions decision, decisions will be made on a rolling basis until classrooms are filled.

What’s an Entrance Test?

Entrance tests for incoming 1st-8th graders include English, language arts, math and a short essay and are different for each incoming grade level. These tests are designed to help GCA understand your student’s current achievement level. Tests are scheduled online, last approximately an hour and are administered at GCA . Students who have experience standardized testing will be comfortable with the format of this test.

Kindergarten screening is an interactive experience and will take place in February and March.

When do I apply for EdChoice?

EdChoice applications will become available in February 2019 for the 2019-2020 school year. You must be accepted at Gahanna Christian Academy prior to submitting an EdChoice application with Gahanna Christian Academy.
