What are the admissions criteria?
All students applying to join Gahanna Christian Academy will be assessed on the following:
- Classroom Performance
- Motivation and Mindset
- Behavior and Discipline
- Parent Partnership
- On-Time Financial History
How old does an incoming kindergartener have to be?
Kindergarten students must be five years old by August 1, 2018 to be admitted for the 2018-2019 school year. If your child will not be five years old by August 1st, please consider enrolling in our 5-year-old Preschool Class.
WHEN CAN I APPLY FOR ED CHOICE?
Ed Choice Scholarships are processed through the State of Ohio Department of Education. Their application will be released in February and will be posted on our website after it becomes available.
HOW DO I ARRANGE FOR TRANSPORTATION?
Columbus City Schools transportation request forms will become available in the spring and will be posted on our website at that time, this form must be completed and turned into GCA in order to process the request.
For transportation from all other districts, please contact your home district's transportation department.
WHAT SPORTS ARE AVAILABLE AT GCA?
Students in 7-12th grade have the opportunity to participate in Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Winter Guard, Baseball, Softball and Track and Field.
WHAT EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED AT GCA?
All extracurricular activities are student-driven, we aim to provide opportunities for our students to explore their passions. If your student is interested in an activity not currently listed, we would love to work with them to develop the opportunity.
Current Offerings: National Honor Society, Student Council, Drama, ASCI Speech Meet, ASCI Math Olympics, Community Service, Mission Projects, Class Retreats, Worship Band, Band, Choir.
What forms are required with the application?
New students must include the following forms with their application to GCA:
- Copy of student's birth certificate.
- Copy of report cards for the two preceding years (Not applicable for Kindergarten).
- Copy of standardized test results (SAT, OAA, OGT) for the two preceding years (Not applicable for Kindergarten).
- Custody documentation if student(s) don't reside with birth mother or both parents.
- School Administrators Recommendation form. (Not applicable for Kindergarten).
- Records Release Form.*
- Parent Questionnaire
- Annual Enrollment Contract.*
- Statement of Understanding.*
Students re-enrolling at GCA must include the following forms with their application to GCA:
