Gahanna Christian Academy is a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and abides by all of the rules and regulations therein. We participate in the Mid Ohio Christian Athletic League (MOCAL), which includes: Delaware Christian School, Fairfield Christian Academy, Grove City Christian School, Madison Christian School, and Tree of Life Christian School. Schools currently on probationary status, with MOCAL, include Gilead Christian School, Granville Christian School, and Northside Christian School. GCA also competes with various non-league public and private schools in, and around, the Central Ohio area.

The Athletic Department’s motto is taken from Philippians 3:14, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which GOD has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” The students, at GCA, have been challenged to honor Jesus in all that they do. It is our desire that our students compete as witnesses to God’s grace and salvation, and to share the gospel with those we compete against, through their actions and words. We want our athletes to show commitment by: fulfilling their promises, displaying a Christ-like attitude, serving others, being responsible students, athletes, and citizens, and striving to be young men and women of the truth.

The following are our prayers for those involved in our athletic programs:

FOR OUR ATHLETES

Heavenly Father, help our young men and women to seek you actively and trust you whole heartedly. Help them to always glorify and honor you in their efforts, on and off the athletic field, so that others would see your love in action.

FOR OUR COACHES AND ADMINISTRATORS

Lord, guide us to be the best possible role models for our student athletes. May all that we say and do be encouraging and constructive, as we guide our young people toward physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.

FOR OUR PARENTS

God, help our parents to be enthusiastic encouragers for their sons and daughters and have an accepting attitude of the abilities God has given each player. May they respect the decisions of the coaches and officials and portray Christ-like behavior at all sporting events, remembering that they, too, are representing you, as well as, Gahanna Christian Academy.
